Content creation can be a drag but it’s a major part of any online business venture. No matter what niche you’re in or products you’re selling, your audience expects fresh content updated regularly. Here are 10 quick and easy content ideas to relieve some of the burden.
Find out what questions your customers have and answer them with your content. Brainstorm common questions they often ask or seek out questions online on forums, question and answer sites, or social media. For each question, create a piece of content (text, visual, video, etc.) and give them a suitable answer.
Your Own Angle
Take a look at other sites on your niche for ideas. When you see one you like, steal it and try to take your own unique angle on it. Disagree with it and explain why, or take the opposite approach. Take that content as your starting point and write your own unique version (but don’t plagiarize!).
Find someone in your niche to interview. It doesn’t have to be someone famous (although that helps), but just someone who has knowledge your audience can use. As long as they have something to share, they’re a perfect interviewee. Jot down a few pertinent questions and let the MP3 recorder roll.
Likewise, get someone to interview you. You can completely stage the interview if you want by writing your own questions. It doesn’t matter. What matters is offering help and value to your audience in an interview format.
Tell a Story
Take the true story of something that happened to you and tell it to your audience. For example, tell them the story of a problem you overcame. Anything is alright as long as it relates to your audience. Draw some takeaways out of it that they can use.
Ask for Stories
Ask a customer or client to write a testimonial, or write a case study using them as a subject. This is essentially the same as the story idea above, except that it’s not about you. A story about your customer shows others how your business can help them.
Repurpose across Media
Take content of one media type (text, video, visual) and repurpose it into another. Blog posts can become video scripts. Slideshows can become podcasts or you can cut them up into tweets. You can take the exact same content and just put it into another format.
Resurrect Old Content
Take something you wrote years ago and update it. Make it current or add newer knowledge you’ve gained to it. There are many ways you can brush off content and rework it so that it’s totally new for your audience.
Find content such as news stories to share with your audience. You can include a link, quote or summary of the article. The important part is that you add your two cents as well.
Ask your audience to create your content for you. Give them a challenge and post the content they send in on your website.
