Content Ideas – Share a Success Story

Everybody loves a good success story. That’s why success stories make such great content. The success story content template is a good one to use when you’re out of ideas or you want to write something that’s really effective in getting people engaged.

Success stories vary widely and can be suited to any niche, but they all follow the same basic flow:

  1. Somebody has a problem hounding them
  2. They struggle with the problem and almost give up
  3. They happen upon one simple thing that solves the problem or makes dealing with it easier
  4. They lived happily ever after – and now they’re telling you about it.

It’s just like the plot arc of a movie. It starts with conflict, progresses through a struggle and ends with a resolution. A good success story provides the reader with a valuable tip or bit of information they can use to solve their own problems.

Aside from the value a success story gives to the reader, these stories are also effective because they resonate. This is a story that triggers an emotional response and it’s an excellent way to entertain and engage your audience.

Building Your Success Story

There are many ways to craft a success story. Let’s start with the protagonist. Who is that somebody struggling? It can be you, the blog or website owner. You can share a problem or struggle that you’ve had and offer your readers a good way to get through it.

It could also be a customer or reader. For example, if someone contacts you to tell you how your product helped them in an unusual way or if they share a helpful tip in the comments, you can ask them to write an original piece for you. This is great for other readers because they can relate.

Your success story can have one of several aims. The aim could be to produce good content that helps readers. You could also use it to sell your products. If a customer found an unusual way to use your product, for example, this would make a great success story. It’s nice if you can lead readers to a sale, but not necessary since providing a helpful tip provides value.

How to Write a Success Story

The success story template can be used in any niche because in every niche there are problems. People have problems with health, money, relationships, starting a business, technology, anxiety, and so on. It’s an extremely adaptable template.

Any tip can be turned into a success story. Start with the success at the end and work your way back to identify a problem and then describe how you came across this tip. Remember to focus at the beginning of the story on the pain or problem and invite your readers to relate.

The success story doesn’t have to be life-changing. You don’t have to be a 20-year heroin addict who figured out how to get clean or a low-tech loser who didn’t know how to turn on a computer but now makes millions online. It can be a simple trick that helped you along the way.

The best success stories are authentic and true. Take something that really happened and share it with your readers (or invite your readers to share their true success stories). It’s a great template to add to your arsenal of ideas.
