The holidays are coming and the entire internet is getting ready. It seems to creep up on you earlier each year. Pretty soon, we’ll start gearing up for the holiday season in mid-July.

Everybody’s getting ready and your ecommerce website needs to get ready too. The weeks and months leading up to the holidays are big for shopping and web surfing. Adding a bit of holiday cheer and updating your site is a good way to boost its holiday traffic.

Deck the Halls

Decorate your website with Christmas colors and holiday motifs, but do it tastefully. Don’t go overboard with holiday pop-ups or anything else too intrusive. Just dress up what you have on your site with some holiday cheer. Look at how Google and other sites do it for ideas.

The holidays are the perfect time for a smoking deal, so offer something your customers can’t refuse. This is one of the surest ways to increase holiday shopping on your ecommerce site. You can offer deals easily with digital coupons. If you sell physical items, offer free gift wrapping.
